The Music Technology Center is a recognized leader in the field of music technology. The Center includes state-of-the-art large and small recording studios and control room, a computer laboratory and a keyboard laboratory. Students have access to the latest equipment and techniques for digital recording and editing, music composition and sequencing, film scoring and interactive multimedia design.
Computers, MIDI keyboards and music publishing software are available to every student. The Music Technology Center gives students the opportunity to explore career paths and to experiment with music technology applications in any field of study. The Conservatory of Music's Building includes practice, rehearsal, and classroom spaces, as well as the Music Technology Center and the recital hall. Additionally, the new 300-seat concert hall provides a great venue for visiting artists, faculty artists and students all year round.
The Music Media Center is dedicated exclusively to research materials, media and supportive information. In addition to books, scores and recorded music, this facility features a listening lab equipped with CD and DVD players, as well as a multi-media instruction room. |
The Conservatory of Music maintains an annual calendar of more than 100 events, including recitals, concerts, musicals, festivals, competitions, symposia, workshops, clinics and special artist series on campus. The RSU Conservatory of Music ensembles are central to the conservatory’s excellence and to the students’ experiences. RSU Chamber Ensembles, Orchestras, Choirs and Jazz Ensembles consistently continue to grow in quality and reputation.
RSU offers abundant opportunities for students to demonstrate their increasing artistic ability. Students will join 22 faculty and 180 music majors who present more than 100 cultural events each year. Every year, RSU music students and ensembles are finalists and winners in collegiate and professional competitions. |
